We are looking for a freelance Senior UX designer - Lead UX Designer to come work with Folk on a 10 week projects commencing 28 March with potential further extension.

Where looking for someone to lead an up to 10 week engagement.

A flexible approach
We work across different clients and sectors; you'll need to be able to adapt and tailor your skills and approach to a wide range of different problems.

Strategic thinking
You can easily switch from macro to micro; from seeing the bigger picture strategic value and the detailed dynamics of an organisation’s product or service.

A focus on doing
You are skilled at translating insights into design opportunities and can quickly and iteratively turn these into tangible prototypes and design solutions.

Collaboration as core
You are confident and collaborative at a client and colleague level; you'll work flexibly and iteratively across all aspects of the design and communicate in a language that everyone can understand.

Skills required:

Research & testing – a structured approach to understanding customers and business problems to identify what's important and test possible solutions. Extensive experience of conducting HCD research and testing online with different user groups and internal stakeholders.

Synthesis – great synthesis capabilities to be able to determine what matter most to users and the client through testing. You’ll need to be able to distinguish between a finding and an insight and have the skills to clear communicate these to clients.

Consultative — you’ll need to be a natural connector with the ability to cut through internal silos, identify assumptions, frame up opportunities and determine the best approach to validate decisions.

UX design — ability to work collaboratively with an established design system and to see the opportunity to suggest new components where relevant. Able to bring the future life through design artefacts such as IA, flows and layouts.

Written and verbal communication — the ability to succinctly capture thoughts and express them to others by crafting and telling a great story.

You’ll should be confident and comfortable working with:

  • Figma — for prototyping and day-to-day design work
  • PPT — For presentations and other things that aren’t design.
  • Dropbox Paper
