New work

Mentally Healthy and User Friendly
A new website for the National Mental Health Commission

01 HEADER NMHC

The National Mental Health Commission has launched their new website – replacing the site that has been with them since their inception back in 2012. No small thing.

NMHC is a Commonwealth agency that monitors and provides independent reports and advice to the community and government on what’s working and what’s not working in mental health and suicide prevention in Australia. They work with stakeholders, particularly people with living experience of mental health, their families and other support people to ensure mental health reforms are collectively owned and actioned.

The breadth of the Commission’s work includes all areas that promote mental health and prevent mental illness and suicide – not just government and not just health, but education, housing, employment, human services and social support, so that all Australians achieve the best possible mental health and wellbeing

They do great work, and they needed a website to match.

Enter Folk, in partnership with the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare (AIHW).

At Folk, we focussed on the facts and insights through research and stakeholder consultation. Through a human-centred design process we set out to make something people easily could, and wanted to, use. Then, of course, we had to make the site look just like them, but… better. Fresh yet familiar.

We’re proud to be supporting the good work the Commission does and are glad to have contributed to this positive piece of work alongside AIHW.

Check out the new website here.
