Overview
Thomson Geer Legal and Technology (TGLT) needed to evolve into something fundamentally different from a traditional law firm.
TGLT was the holding entity for an established set of successful specialist businesses that delivered high-volume, process-driven legal work. A technology and AI platform was becoming integral to their value proposition, driving speed, consistency and control, with AI accelerating transformation at pace. And a compliance requirement meant that separation from parent law firm Thomson Geer had become necessary.
Folk were engaged to rethink how this business
should go to market. To be seen, and heard.
We challenged the core conventions of legal
services and positioned them to lead distinctly
in the emerging NewLaw category.
Challenging conventions

We worked with the team to reframe the business from the ground up.

We shifted the business from a holding entity of specialist services to a single, unified firm that centred around process-based and volume work. This meant challenging the advisory-led conventions of the legal industry and positioning closer to the emerging NewLaw category.

We grounded this brand in intelligent systems and reliability at scale, balanced with the deep expertise
in the firm. Our insight was to steer clear of the disruption narrative that most NewLaw brands adopt, and anchor in engineered control and precision.

A language of engineered systems

We gave the firm the name Faculti to evoke the idea
of engineered capability. Structured its offer into a set of process-led solutions, and named the AI technology layer, Fai: Faculti’s AI assistant.

The identity system was designed to position the business in manner in which it operates. Precise progress, efficient process, at scale.

A modular and dynamic graphic language, built on grids and nodes, expresses structured workflows and repeatable processes. It expands and compounds across applications, reinforcing ideas of scale, precision and predictability. The system feels controlled, kinetic. Never static. Capable of growing, re-shaping, with the business as it evolves.

Across every touchpoint, the brand signals a shift in what a legal firm can be. Not defined by individuals, but by systems, designed with expertise, and built to operate consistently, efficiently and at volume.

We brought the website to life with the same principles, making sure the value proposition was clear, giving structure to the solutions and surfacing technology layer as a product in its own right.

Prepared, to stand out

The result is a statement repositioning of the business.

It defines its own space. Stepping outside the dominant narratives of both traditional law and NewLaw disruptors. One grounded in engineered systems, control and reliability at scale.

The brand creates a platform for growth, supporting the expansion of both its legal solutions, and its technology and AI capabilities. Just as importantly,
it aligns the organisation around a shared model of how value is created.

A shift from model law firm, to operating model.

From expertise as input, to expertise as infrastructure.
